Shades of Blue

This quilt was inspired by one that I saw at the Bancroft Ontario quilt show last year.  It still uses "leaders & enders", but the 25 patch blocks are organized with the same blue squares forming an X through each block.  I set the blocks on point so that I could use a set of 12 quilting patterns that I had saved from the Patchpieces website.  They were offered as a free BOM in 2001, and they have been generously kept available on the site since then!
The machine quilted motifs were stitched with a variegated blue thread.  I'll show the individual blocks and setting triangles later.

  1. I love the 'anchor' the blue provides. That is a beautiful quilt!
